CAPORASO, Antonio

Antonio Caporaso was born in Benevento – South Italy. He graduated, with full marks, in Choir Conductor, Composition (Claudio Perugini), Organ and Organ Composition (Francesco Di Lernia) Harpsichord (Andreina Di Girolamo).
He continued his studies at Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Vienna (Roman Summereder), and in 2004 he took a degree with distinction as an Organ Concert Artist, achieving the academic qualification of Magister Artium. Afterwards, he took a degree with distinction in Harpsichord “solo course” (Enrico Baiano). He performs in prestigious concert places, such as: Michaelerkirche – Vienna, Cathedrale de Notre-Dame – Parigi, St. Paul’s Cathedral – Londra, Tyska S. Gertruds – Stoccolma, Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gedächtniskirche – Berlino, Queen’s College – Oxford, Christuskirche – Lipsia, St. Peter und Paul Kirche – Weimar, Pauluskirche – Darmstadt, Ev-Luth. Friedenskirche (Silbermann Organ) – Ponitz-D, Friedenskirche Sanssouci – Potsdam, Augustiner-Chorherrenstift (Bruckner Organ) – St. Florian-A.
He is the president of the Aulos cultural association and the conductor and the arranger of the Aulos Vocale Ensemble , “a cappella” choir, that rescores famous and popular soundtracks.
Antonio Caporaso is also active in the compositions field; together with didactic works published in the lulu.com catalogue, his arrangements and original works have been published by the Swiss editions Pizzicato and Belgian editions Lantro Music, performed several times in Italy and abroad, such as: Österreichisches KulturinstitutRoma, on the occasion of the project “Mozart ed i giovani” 2006, Auditorium “Ennio Morricone” Tor Vergata University – Roma, Assembly Hall of the Chateau “XXI Festival Forfest 2010” – Kroměříž – Czech Republic. His work “Frammenti”, Partita über Klavierskizzen von W.A. Mozart, commissioned by the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Mainfranken Theater Würzburg (Germany), was premièred in June 2012 in the Kaisersaal of the Residenz in Würzburg as a part of the festival Mozart Fest.
He also wrote for the Austrian review Singende Kirche, for the German Ars Organi, for the Dutch Het Orgel, the Swedish Kyrko-musikernas Tidning and for the Italian reviews Il Giornale della Musica-EDT, Amadeus online, La Provincia Sannita and bMagazine. He recorded a CD Organ recital in Vienna for Domani Musica-Roma. He teachs Theory, Rhythmics and Musical perception and Choir conductorship on the ordinary, two-year and three-year academic courses at the Conservatory “Nicola Sala” in Benevento.
